Opportunities to Reconnect, Sharpen Ministry Tools Abound at Anderson Regional

 In Convention, MOVE

Generations of families associate the dawn of summer with a trek to Anderson, Indiana, to reunite, replenish, and rejoice in the Lord together with Church of God people from near and far. This year, pastors and leaders are delighted once again to return to an area steeped in history during a season when reconnection and fresh inspiration for ministry are so desperately needed. But while the chance to catch up with sisters and brothers in Christ is certainly alluring, the days leading up to the second Regional Conference of the year are especially abuzz with anticipation not only for a lineup of stellar speakers, but also a slew of popular pre-conference electives.

The 2022 Regional Conference of the Church of God in Anderson spans three days in the latter half of June (21–23). The opening session doesn’t commence until 7:00 on Tuesday evening, June 21, but conference attendees are already planning to arrive early for pre-conference electives designed for a variety of ministry leaders on a range of topics.

Several of these electives take place over lunch. From 11:45 AM until 1:00 PM, luncheons are scheduled for women in ministry, worship leaders, youth leaders, and chaplains.

From 1:00 until 2:30 PM, chaplains will enjoy a second dose of investment in their calling, while a pre-conference titled “Flourishing in Ministry” is already prompting pastors to plan to participate.

A final period of pre-conference electives begins at 3:00, offering the following intriguing conference titles:

  • “A Stuck Church in a Changing World,”
  • “Credentials | Leadership Focus,” and
  • “Atlas Introduction.”

Toss in the observations, insights, and admonitions of speakers Carla Sunberg, Brian Bennett, Heather Semple, and Bob Rognlien—as well as the conclusions drawn from panelists Justin Brown, Abbie Craig, Ra’Lynn Kelley, Richard Smith, Jason Varner, and Nathan Willowby—and you’ve got a recipe for a spiritual casserole fitting for a fantastic family reunion in Anderson, Indiana.
