From June 29 until July 2, 2026, First Financial Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, was home to the International Youth Convention of the Church of God. Though not reserved exclusively for spiritual activity, life change took place within the halls of the massive venue as the Holy Spirit moved in hearts ready to respond. Just one year after IYC2026 beckoned students and their youth leaders, the Church of God Convention and General Assembly is set to bring pastors and lay leaders of the Movement back to downtown Cincinnati for something different—for something new.

Save the dates: June 28–July 1, 2027! And register today at chogconvention.org. Why? Because we believe you’ll want to be there, especially given God’s propensity to do something new in the midst of his people. In fact, that’s the theme of Convention 2027, revealed in recent weeks to the Church of God. “Behold: A New Thing,” in reference to Isaiah 43:19, speaks not only of general divine activity in our day, but also, and more specifically, in the life of Movement established more than 145 years ago.

Partnering with comfortable accommodations—Hyatt Regency, Hilton Netherland Plaza, and the Westin Cincinnati—Convention 2027 is sure to offer nightly comfort so guests can focus daily attention on what the Spirit is saying to the Church of God. Within walking distance from the convention center, guests will find a variety of entertainment options like Fountain Square, Smale Riverfront Park, a pedestrian walking bridge across the Ohio River, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center museum, the Cincinnati Fire Museum, and Great American Ballpark (the Reds are scheduled to be at home!). So, whether convention-goers arrive early, stay late, or happen to miss an elective (not recommended!), the Ohio city famous for its skyline (and chili!) only gets more appealing as the important dates near.

A wide array of insightful electives, inspirational morning and evening main sessions, special receptions and luncheons, and, of course, the General Assembly meetings, are in the development stages. Registrants of the 2027 Convention and General Assembly can expect anointed preachers, dynamic worship leaders, and the highest-quality programming possible in the Church of God movement. Once referring especially fondly to this annual gathering of God’s family, former missionary Ann Smith (now 101 years young) insisted of this “wonderful time to reconnect and meet new people”—“You can’t put a price on that!”

David Sebastian, former dean of the Anderson University School of Theology, similarly observed several years ago, “Through inspirational services, informational conferences and missional opportunities, my Christian discipleship has been strengthened. Whether living in Arizona, Ohio or Indiana, the Church of God Convention continues to be a priority… The friendships my family has made and maintained priceless.”

As the Convention website puts it, there are moments when God calls us to turn our attention toward what lies ahead and perceive what’s emerging. The 2027 Church of God Convention and General Assembly is an invitation to gather with expectation, embrace what God is revealing, and move forward together at this pivotal moment in the history of our Movement. Rooted in holiness and united in purpose, we look ahead with hope—eyes open, hearts ready, attentive to the new thing God is doing in and among us.

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” —Isaiah 43:19 NKJV

Though speaker, worship leader, and elective details are still unfolding, the invitation is clear. Join your Church of God family in Cincinnati as we gather with expectation and behold the new thing God is doing among us.
