Church of God Students Gear Up for Community Service at IYC2014
On July 5, nearly five-thousand high school students and their youth leaders from all over North America—with representatives from Italy, Bangladesh, Australia, and Jordan—will gather in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 49th biennial International Youth Convention (IYC) of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). On the afternoon of Monday, July 7, these students will give back to the city of Nashville by serving the community in hopes of making a difference.
IYC has partnered to serve Radnor Lake State Natural Area, Community Servants, Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Greenways of Nashville, Room in the Inn, Friends of Warner Parks, among others. Students will also complete projects at the Opryland Hotel, site of the convention, through Change This World; approximately 1,600 students and their leaders will pack seventy-five thousand meals to be shipped to hungry children and adults around the globe.
IYC participants have served in each of the convention’s host communities since 1992, giving back thousands of hours of volunteer service and showing the love of Jesus. IYC2014 will be held July 5–8 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Learn more at www.IYC2014.org.
