In 2021 the General Assembly of the Church of God issued a resounding charge to seek out and clarify the “composition, beliefs, and practice of the Church of God in regard to racial justice and the equality of men and women.” To answer this charge, The Justice and Equity Task Force was formed.

Take Our Survey

In accordance with our charge, our first step is to be inclusive and expansive in gathering the observations and honest perspectives of our brothers and sisters across the Movement. If you are active in a Church of God congregation anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, we invite and encourage you to take this 20-minute survey. Your answers are completely anonymous.

The deadline to complete the survey is October 31, 2022. If you have already responded to the survey please do not take it again.

FAQS

Why am I being asked to take this survey?

Our intention is to gather the observations not just of Church of God pastors and leaders, but of as many congregants who are willing to participate. In an effort to reach the broadest cross section of laypeople, Church of God Ministries will be including the link to this survey in our next MOVE e-newsletters. Additionally, you may have been forwarded this link by your pastor, who thought you might be able to provide valuable and pertinent perspectives pursuant to our charge.

What do we expect to gain from this survey?

We expect this survey to identify efforts within our Movement that can truly be celebrated. We also expect this survey to help us take an honest look in the mirror as we collectively ask the question, “Are we living out what we say we believe?” Our intentional focus is on learning and growing in our unity as the body of Christ.

Are we looking to change the theology of the Church of God Movement?

The justice and equity resolution’s focus on composition, beliefs, and practices gives us the opportunity to look at how we live out our theology, and is not about redefining our theology.

Who should contact if I have questions?

If you need assistance with the survey or have any questions, please email unityteam@chog.org. Our volunteer team will review your email and follow up as we can. Thank you.
