Monday Daytime Services Inspire Service, Evangelism

The Monday morning worship service of the Global Gathering was powerful and inspiring. Cindy Magsig, of San Antonio, Texas, worship leader for the service, opened with a heartfelt rendition of I Bless Your Name followed by songs of praise that brought those in attendance to their feet as they sang together in worship.

When Edward Nkansah, of Accra, Ghana, took his place on the platform to share the message “Growing Together by Serving the World,” it was apparent that the gathering was in for a treat. His strong baritone voice testified about overcoming challenges in his life. His words were deliberate and convicting: “The church must carry out the mission of Jesus Christ to accomplish God’s will in the redemption of humanity.” A few moments later, a challenge was accompanied by cheers and clapping. “People all over the world don’t know the way to Christ,” he passionately shared. “We are to hold them, love them, and care for them. We are to be bridge builders. That is our duty.”

The afternoon service on Monday was uplifting and compelling. Mandy Bohm, of Barboursvile, West Virginia, led the worship. She sang a beautiful duet, “Down From His Glory,” with her father, Larry Mobley. Aslo Ebanks, of the Cayman Islands, shared a special song, and the leaders of Church of God endorsed agencies were recognized. The speaker challenged the church to do whatever it takes to reach the lost. He emphasized that we need to be more enthusiastic about the good news in order to more effectively introduce people to Jesus. “Christianity is not about good people producing more good people. It’s about light coming into the darkness and chasing it away. It’s about people being reconciled to God.”
