Key Theology Text Soon Available in Spanish
Theology for Disciples, an essential textbook by the late Dr. Gilbert W. Stafford, will be released in Spanish this month under the title Teología para Discípulos. The translation was sponsored by the Hispanic Council of the Church of God and the Literature Endowment Fund of Warner Press, Inc.
The author taught at the Anderson University School of Theology from 1976 to 2007 and was a widely respected ecumenical Christian leader. He emphasized that theology is a practical discipline for every follower of Jesus Christ, because a firm grasp of theology should lead to faithful life of discipleship. As a result, Christian colleges and seminaries throughout North America now use Dr. Stafford’s text for their introductory theology courses.
The Hispanic Council circulated Teología para Discípulos free of charge in electronic form to all Spanish-speaking Church of God pastors in the United States last fall. By making it available in print, Warner Press hopes to reach laypersons and students who need this valuable resource. The book retails for $19.99 and is available at the Warner Press website (www.warnerpress.org) beginning on September 16, as well as by phone (800-744-7721) or mail order.
The publishing house will release a workbook to accompany this text in November. Titled Pensando en Nuestra Fe, this is a Spanish translation of the late Oral Withrow’s book Thinking about Our Faith and retails for $9.99. A 30 percent discount is available for orders of six copies or more. The workbook can also be ordered from Warner Press by phone, mail, or web.
