Introducing Missionary Libby Parker
Church of God Ministries and Global Missions welcome Libby Parker to our team as a missionary to Japan. She will be departing soon for the Kansai District of Japan, where she will teach conversational English.
Libby is recent college graduate of Calvin College with a double major in psychology and religion. She and her older brother grew up in Anderson, Indiana, with their parents, Nigel and Kathryn Parker. In high school, Libby was able to serve on several leadership teams and travel to Guatemala and Haiti on service trips with East Side Church of God.
Before entering college, Libby accepted a call to full-time ministry and committed to following Christ wherever he would lead. She served as a youth intern through Internship Academy (youth ministries department of Church of God Ministries) and during that time served on a mission trip to northern India.
During her first year of college, Libby’s father passed away unexpectedly. Two years later her older brother also passed away. These two events strongly shaped Libby’s life. After a time of struggle and questioning, she believes her faith in God is stronger and more grounded.
Libby loves coffee shop conversations that lead to a life change and seeing broken people find healing through Christ.
