Hope: Christ’s Birthday Observance 2013
By Mary Stephens
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” —Luke 2:10 NIV
“I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” Over two thousand years ago, a message was shared. It was a message that declared that all people can have hope because the Messiah had been born. Finally, a rescuer, a healer, a teacher, a Savior for the world had arrived. With the arrival of Jesus came hope; hope for the present and hope for the future.
The message of hope was for all people. It was hope for people from every station and ethnicity. It was hope for the prisoner, the sick, and the poor. It was hope for the free, the healthy, and the rich. Jesus brought hope for all.
Thank you for joining Christian Women Connection in the 2013 Christ’s Birthday Observance as we proclaim hope to our world. Together we will pray with and for each other through Project Prayer. We will spend time in devotion and thought through the Meditation Journal. We will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through our gifts and by generously contributing to the Christ’s Birthday Observance offering. Thank you for your prayers, devotion and gifts. You make a difference in the work of the Church of God.
Nearly every ministry of the Church of God is touched in some way by the Christ’s Birthday Observance offering. This church-wide offering supports Church of God Ministries (including Global Missions, Church of God Convention, and the International Youth Convention, and much more) and Endorsed Agencies, including our colleges and universities and Servant Solutions. Through Christian Women Connection, mission projects, leadership development, scholarships, and women’s ministries are funded.
Don’t forget to send in your offerings to your state Christian Women Connection treasurer. Funds must be received by April 30, 2014, to be included in the grand total. Thank you for your participation and service to the Church of God.
