Hispanic Council Active During Global Gathering
By Jorge Palacios
The Hispanic Council of the Church of God (Concilio Hispano) planned our activities for the Global Gathering for more than a year. Pastors, leaders, and church members traveled from different regions to be at this event. The national program committee, in coordination with Church of God Ministries, the Hispanic congregation in Anderson, Indiana (Pastor Heriberto Mejia), in Cincinnati, Ohio (Pastor Ercides Estrada), in Columbus, Ohio (Pastor Jose Gomez), and other pastors and leaders from this Concilio region, worked together to help promote this unity event. For us it was a great blessing to celebrate together with all of you. The Concilio national leadership greatly appreciated the opportunity to hold our Hispanic Convention during the Global Gathering—our General Assembly on Saturday, and the Hispanic service on Sunday. The Concilio General Assembly celebrated ministries from different parts of the world, including missionaries, pastors, and international leaders. During the week, representatives from the Church of God in the United States in this meeting also shared ministry information, national directors reports, the Concilio work in United States, and our visionary strategic plan to continue working together to extend the kingdom of God, both nationally and internationally.
During Sunday’s worship service in Spanish, we worshiped the Lord with a special music team, special singers, and powerful preaching from Pastor Carlos Lamelas, Dallas, Texas (formerly a minister in the Church of God in Cuba). Concilio brothers and sisters have been in all Global Gathering activities, saying Hola (Hello) to everybody. We celebrate the partnership and the blessed unity in the Church of God family. Gracias.
