Fulfilling What God Has Ordained You to Do

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”—Ephesians 2:10 NIV
Purpose is not based upon what you are, but it is established upon who you are in God. Fulfilling our purpose is beyond our power; we must allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what our purpose is. Some are very fortunate that they recognized early in life what their purpose was. Then there are others, such as myself who didn’t find out until much later in life. My journey to my reason for being here was solely found in my relationship with God.
Purpose will fulfill you even though it may seem a contradiction to your personality. I am a preacher, not by choice but by God’s design and his good pleasure. I am also a textbook introvert. Yet, when I stand to proclaim the Word of God, I feel electrifying joy and all is right with the world. However, on my way to purpose, I had to take advantage of the seasons of preparation.
David E. Martin says in his book The Misconception of Purpose, “So many have died not knowing their purpose. There are thousands of songs never written, messages never preached, thousands of sick never visited, churches never established. There are thousands of books never written, prisoners never visited, children never taught about Jesus because some have failed to allow God to fulfill his purpose in them.”
There is a divine purpose for Christian Women Connection. We have, by the grace of God accomplished much, but there is also more to do. As we continue to provide women’s ministry resources to the Church of God and beyond, we can never lose sight that our ultimate purpose is to win souls for Christ. Everything we do must be centered on that! What God has called us to do is not for show, it is for sow.
In the last few months we have witnessed a lot of new changes in the Church of God. I am so pleased that we at Christian Women Connection have a vital role in the Body. We do not exist to be a standalone agency, but we coexist to fulfill the mission of the Church.
Friends, if we are God’s handiwork we operate in his power. It is important that we continue to spend time with him and occupy the seasons and places in which he would have us to be. When we do that, we can effectively affect the people whom God has purposed us. I am where God would have me be today; tomorrow my purpose is in his hands!
