Only a month has passed since it happened the first time this year, but now it’s Regional time again for the Church of God in the United States and Canada. With timing taking a backseat to location, this year’s Regionals were scheduled intentionally to give Church of God pastors and leaders a range of options proximate to each traveler’s base of ministry. Even so, timing is just right (think latter half of June) for those who would insist on maintaining the historically appropriate camp-meeting rhythm. With a roster of speakers divinely appointed for the time and place in the overarching strategy of the Spirit, not to mention a schedule of events and activities designed to connect, inspire, equip, and empower, it’s no wonder a cross-section of the Church of God movement is descending this week upon Oklahoma City’s Crossings Community Church.

“Empowering God’s people” is the tagline for the Church of God Regional, which makes sense in view of the product of partnership and collaboration characterizing this year’s three major events. Each speaker, each breakout, each workshop and fellowship activity, will serve the higher purpose of providing what guests need to go and do the ministry to which they’ve been called, but also to then be released with the inspiration and confidence needed to pursue, seize, and embrace. With the help of Crossings Community Church, on the sprawling campus of Crossings Community Church, the following speakers are capturing the attention of many across the Movement ready to hear an anointed word from the Lord: Matt Anderson, Deidre Franklin, Marty Grubbs (host senior pastor), Tatum Osbourne, and Jim Lyon—among a slew of other familiar faces and a few perhaps not broadly known (yet!).

Add names to structure and format, and you’ve got a recipe for renewal for many a pastor and ministry leader weary from the weekly (daily!) grind. Touring the church campus, listening to discussions about practical ministry issues like “theological commitments” and “the church in a multicultural world,” and certainly spending time with affinity groups and partners in ministry, as well as agencies of the Church of God, are all options to be selected by guests of the Oklahoma City Regional, June 18 through June 20 at Crossings Community Church. Stay tuned to Church of God Ministries social media and CHOGnews (www.chognews.org) for updates throughout the week.

Current cloud cover is forecast to break this afternoon, and sunshine awaits those who arrive in the Sooner State this week. More importantly, however, so waits the Spirit of restoration and revival. Details: www.chogconvention.org.
