Five Things You Need to Know About Reclaim 2017
1. Who can attend?
Anyone can register to attend the convention. Laypeople and pastors are welcome! No special programming for children or youth is available; all the convention sessions are general. There is no additional charge for children, under age 18, attending from your household.
The schedule of Reclaim 2017 also encompasses the 98th annual meeting of the General Assembly (GA), the governing body of the Church of God. The GA includes ministers, commissioned missionaries, and lay members designated by their local church (full requirements are listed here).
2. What will we do?
From Tuesday to Friday, June 20–23, you’ll be inspired by dynamic speakers. You’ll enjoy worshiping Jesus in song with hundreds of others from Church of God congregations across the country. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with Church of God agencies and with fellow believers. Your convention registration includes participation in the prayer gathering and the eight main sessions included on the schedule. Meals and lodging expenses are on your own. Learn more about the speakers and schedule. Additional events are being planned and will be added as registration requirements, times, and locations are confirmed.
The convention ends on Friday at 12:30 pm (cdt), giving you time to catch your flight home, or to continue your stay in Wichita and enjoy some of the local attractions. Nearby points of interest include the Sedgwick County Zoo (the seventh largest zoo in the United States!), museums of art and history (including the Museum of World Treasures), golf courses, and nature trails.
3. Where will we stay?
The convention will be held at Central Community Church, a Church of God congregation located only a few miles west of downtown Wichita, Kansas. Plenty of comfortable lodging is accessible at hotels nearby. Book your lodging ahead of time and take advantage of exclusive discounts for conference attendees (see our list here). Plus, if you plan to fly, the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) is only about five minutes from the convention location.
4. When should I register?
The sooner, the better! You’ll save time and money when you register now through March 31. Of course, you can still sign up later on, but we encourage you to take advantage of early-bird registration and start the excitement of planning your trip. You’ll avoid the hassle of waiting in line for your name tag (required for entry into sessions), plus you’ll save over $50 on your registration fee. Register online or by mail today.
