Drew & Sunny Brown: The Road to Karachi
By Stephen Lewis
New adventure still beckons. God is still working. Global Strategy is still responding. Even in the middle of a pandemic.
And Drew and Sunny Brown and their family are headed off on another new adventure, the latest in the many they’ve already lived. In 2019, back before any of us had heard of COVID-19, the Holy Spirit was speaking to Drew and Sunny. They heard God calling them into missions. Out of the blue came a call from Don and Caroline Armstrong, Global Strategy’s regional coordinators for Asia and the Pacific. This new adventure is leading them to Karachi, Pakistan, from their home in Boise, Idaho.
Today, Global Strategy is excited to announce the appointment of Drew and Sunny Brown and their family as missionaries to walk alongside the Church of God in Pakistan. They’ve been invited to come work with the church with a specific focus on pastoral training and education. In fact, Drew has already started. In mid-2020, he began teaching by Zoom pastors enrolled in the George Theological College in Pakistan. In addition to pastoral training, Drew and Sunny will be helping church leaders develop a standardized Sunday school curriculum for use across all 263 Church of God congregations, helping to provide discipleship to more than 70,000 people. In addition, Sunny will be nurturing relationships and a ministry among the women in the church. Drew will be putting his audio engineering skills to use, helping the Church of God in Pakistan develop a radio outreach ministry.
Drew and Sunny and their two children have set their feet on the road to Karachi. Would you come alongside them? Would you pray for them as they begin this journey? Would you support them financially?
