Cultivate at NAC 2012: “Uniquely You” Conference
By Barb Ferraro
Everyone is divinely designed! The Bible tells us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps 139:14). God has created and designed us with a purpose in mind. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been wired to care about some things more than others. When you know your God-given passion, spiritual gifts, and personal style, you have a better idea of how you can serve others in a fruitful and fulfilled way.
Do you feel that you are capable of accomplishing more than you are presently achieving? Do you sense that God wants to use you in a meaningful way but you’re not sure how? Do you feel frustrated and confused about not knowing just where you fit in the church? Do you desire to make a difference with your life and in the lives of others? Are you unable to figure out what you should be doing in the church? Do you wish you knew God’s will for your life? Are you often asked to do things you’re not interested in doing?
If you have asked any or all of these questions, there is nothing wrong with you. There are many who have the same questions and feel the same way. We would like to help you understand how God has made you and how you can help to build up each other and your church. We want to take you beyond the should and want, to the who and how of serving.
If you have a desire to see more than half of the believers in your church serving God by using their uniqueness and gifts in a way that will bring him glory, join Dr. Mels Carbonell, PhD in human behavior and leadership, as he teaches us how to use a tool called “Uniquely You.” Dr. Carbonell is an acclaimed speaker, minister, writer, and business owner. He is currently the president of Uniquely You, Inc., a company offering proven human behavior solutions to life’s complex “people puzzle.” He has written more than thirty profiles with clear instructions on how to enhance giftedness and motivations, and avoid conflict with others. You will learn how to individually help people understand how God has shaped them and which ministries match that shape. All of the ministries of the church can be enhanced, changed for the better, and expanded when we get the right people in the right ministries. It really is the way God intended for us to function as the body of Christ. This is not another program, but rather a process that can help you and your church find your God-given purpose of knowing and using spiritual gifts, passion, and personality.
The “Uniquely You” ministry conference at NAC 2012 in Anderson, Indiana, is designed for pastors, ministry leaders, and lay leaders interested in spiritual gift–based ministry. The first part of the conference will be held on Monday, June 25 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM, and the session will conclude with part two from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. An advance registration of $35 is required.
“As each one has received a spiritual gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” —1 Peter 4:10 NASB
