Anticipation is high and hearts are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit over the next four days at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City. Enthusiasm for #BeBold2014 has continued to rise on Facebook and Twitter over the weekend. Travelers from across the country and around the world are descending on the Sooner State for an event that has promised to usher in an era of fresh vision and hope for the Church of God.

Over the weekend, those who arrived early in Oklahoma City were seen touring historic Bricktown, paying their respects at the National Memorial, and visiting the Mid-America Christian University campus. Yesterday many convention-goers got a sneak peak at the convention venue as they attended worship services with the Crossings Community Church family. Today a variety of pre-convention meetings and activities culminate with a town hall meeting, followed by the opening worship service at 7:00 PM CDT.

Today at 3:00 PM CDT, Jim Lyon takes the stage at Crossings for the “Go Ahead, Ask Anything” town hall meeting. At 7:00 PM CDT, national recording artists Sidewalk Prophets lead the crowd in worship and Jim Lyon presents the kickoff message.

What are you most looking forward to this year at the Church of God Convention? Church of God pastors, leaders, and laypeople from near and far will be represented at this movement-wide meeting, the first outside of Anderson, Indiana, for more than a hundred years. The format, the style, the schedule, the location, and the leadership represent a new work that God is doing among his people.

Some have come for the speaking. Some have come for the worship. Some have come to speak into the direction of the movement, and some have come out of curiosity. Some have come to reunite with friends, while others have come to make new friends. All have come expecting. Will you pray with expectation that Jesus will be the subject of all that is said and done?
