CHOG Universities, College Gear Up for Convention
By Carl Stagner
Church of God Convention 2015—Royals, Knights, Evangels, and Ravens welcome! Of course, all others are welcome, too! We simply want alumni of Warner University, Warner Pacific College, Mid-America Christian University, and Anderson University to be aware of the celebrations, receptions, and other opportunities your alma mater is bringing to this year’s convention. Even if you didn’t attend one of these Church of God schools, some of these events still apply to you! But most of these events also require RSVP by Monday, June 1.
Anderson University alumni will want to plan to arrive a day in advance of the convention. On Sunday, June 21, alumni will gather at a baseball game at 6:00
PM featuring the Oklahoma City Dodgers.* Alumni will reminisce about their AU experiences while enjoying America’s pastime in select seats behind home plate. Tickets are only $15, but seating is limited. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
A favorite at the convention last year, the barbecue picnic hosted by Mid-America Christian University returns this year. The Monday event takes place at the student center on the MACU campus (3500 SW 119th St in Oklahoma City). Don’t worry about being late to the kickoff service of the convention—this “dinner” starts at 4:30 PM! By June 1, secure your reservation with Morgan Alsip at malsip@macu.edu or 405-692-3244.
Two Church of God schools are offering dinner on Tuesday, June 23. Friends and alumni of Warner Pacific College, plan to attend a special dinner at 5:00
PM. Reservations are required by June 1—RSVP at www.warnerpacific.edu/oklahoma.
Friends and alumni of Warner University are invited to attend a special dinner, also at 5:00 PM on Tuesday. Reservations are required, and should be sent to Kareen Pickett at Kareen.Pickett@warner.edu by June 1.
On Wednesday, 5:00–6:30 PM, the Church of God will honor the fifth president of Anderson University with a reception. Meet, greet, and celebrate with John Pistole in this exciting new season of Anderson University’s history. Click here to register for this special occasion.
A multitude of other fellowship opportunities, get-togethers, and workshops are available to enhance your Be Bold. Reclaim. experience. Browse a list of these events at https://www.jesusisthesubject.org/extraevents/.
*All times included are listed as Central Daylight Time (CDT).
