CGM Announces Nationwide Health Insurance
On June 1, 2012, health insurance plans will be available to Church of God ministers and groups of ten or more church employees through GuideStone (GS) Insurance for the first time. This is a significant opportunity for those who serve the Lord in congregations across the Church of God movement.
For several years, Church of God Ministries has been exploring the possibility of offering affordable health insurance options to those in dedicated ministry service. In choosing the right option, CGM sought a provider with a commitment both to serving God and to providing value and quality service for its clients. GuideStone met those key criteria.
According to Ronald V. Duncan, general director of Church of God Ministries, “GuideStone is providing a crucial service that affirms the Church of God commitment to the care and support of those in ministry. This is a unique and long-awaited opportunity that meets an important need for ministers in our movement, and is delivered by an organization that shares our commitment to serving the Lord.”
With a one-hundred-year history of serving other evangelical churches, ministers, and staff members, GS has expanded their services to offer affordable, portable, and flexible plans to individuals and groups serving the Church of God. Each available health plan features quality medical and prescription drug coverage with access to the nationwide Blue Cross Blue Shield network.
There are group plans as well as individual plans available, primarily for those still in active ministry and below age sixty-five. Rates are available at www.GuideStone.org/chog.
The first effective coverage date will be June 1, 2012, but those interested in applying for coverage can begin the process now by contacting GuideStone at 1-888-98-GUIDE (1-888-984-8433) toll free or by visiting www.GuideStone.org/chog.
