CARE 2.0 ANNOUNCES TWO NEW COACHES
As a part of the rollout of CARE 2.0* comes the announcement of two new CARE coaches. In CARE 2.0, Nabil Safi and Bob Haymond form the coaching duo that will serve Church of God pastors and their congregational boards in matters of clergy financial planning and well-being. Bob Haymond, with Servant Solutions, will offer sound financial counsel with pastors and their families. Nabil Safi, with Church of God Ministries, will serve congregational boards and financial decision-makers by working toward best practices for structuring pastor compensation packages.
These coaching efforts are coordinated by the CARE project director, Joseph Cookston, Church of God Ministries, and result from an enthusiastic partnership between Church of God Ministries and Servant Solutions.
Meet Nabil and Bob!
Nabil has been married to Myrna for eleven years and they both enjoy parenting Amanda, their five-year-old girl. Nabil was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, where he was first involved with the Church of God. Nabil and Myrna moved to the United States in 2011 to enroll at the Anderson University School of Theology. He is an ordained minister with the Church of God and serves as the executive pastor of Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nabil holds two master’s degrees: intercultural studies and marketing. His over twenty years of marketplace and ministry experience taught him that relationships are what matters at the end of day, especially when sharing the gospel.
Bob and his wife Lisa have been married for thirty-five years. They have two children and four grandchildren. He is a graduate of Taylor University and his passion includes being a part of several ministry activities; a local church plant, youth and missions. Bob and his wife enjoy the outdoors and traveling with family and friends.
Bob is currently serving as the director of finance at the Wesleyan Pension Fund, a sister church benefits association retirement plan in Fishers, Indiana. Bob brings a wealth of church retirement plan experience to the position, and he is familiar with 403(b)(9) aspects and concepts. He also is a certified financial planner and is eager to learn the Servant Solutions financial planning processes and software, as well as engaging in the continued partnership of CARE with the Church of God Ministries team. Bob also brings a well-rounded operations background that allows him to bring his gifts for duties/projects that can propel Servant Solutions forward.
*CARE 2.0 offers financial planning and assistance to early career pastors and coaching to congregational boards in matters of pastor well-being through best practices in structuring pastor compensation packages. In 2019, CARE continues to follow up with CARE 1.0 pastors. Also, for 2019, CARE has formed a pilot group of fifteen diverse congregations in order to learn how best to listen to, encourage, and equip local board leaders. CARE 2.0 will expand to additional congregations in 2020.
**CARE is partially funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc.
