AU SOT Hosting New ‘Renew Your Ministry!’ Event
The Anderson University School of Theology is offering Renew Your Ministry!, a three day event from March 10-12. Classes will be open to those who register for the event, with lunch provided. On Tuesday, registration includes the annual Harp Lecture with guest speaker Dr. Gary Agee.
Renew Your Ministry! was developed as part of the seminary’s desire to build stronger partnerships with the church and the local community.
“We love the church and want to be accessible to the women and men who are partners in Kingdom ministry with us,” said John Aukerman, professor of Christian education and director of distance education.
The SOT recently received accreditation approval from the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) to offer the professional ministry degree, the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, 100 percent online. The SOT is one of only seven ATS schools approved fora professional degree to be 100 percent online.
Following the announcement, online degree students expressed an interest of still having an opportunity for face-to-face learning. Renew Your Ministry! offers students the value of having time in the classroom with other peers in ministry.
Aukerman added the class sessions from March 10 – 12 will be open to the whole faith community. “We hope to see several local pastors, lay leaders, and other faithful Christ followers come and enjoy some valuable learning and community.”
A full schedule is available online. Registration is open online or contact (765) 641-4530.
