National headlines blazed: Churchgoers Gunned Down in Charleston, South Carolina.

A white supremacist had opened fire, killing nine African Americans in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Forty-eight hours later, in the midst of unspeakable grief and suffering, the families of the Emanuel Nine stood in court facing the killer…and offered words of forgiveness.

Their demonstration of grace ushered the way for hope and healing across a city and the nation, and stand today as an embodiment of The Way of Jesus.

Featuring intimate interviews with survivors and family members, EMANUEL is a poignant story of justice and faith, love and hate, examining the healing power of forgiveness.

Pastor Compensation Matters

1:00-2:30PM

Partnering with pastors and congregational leaders to understand and implement best practices for pastor compensation and financial health

Over the past several decades, the findings from research data from pastors around the country indicate that financial stress is the number one deterrent to pastors’ health and well-being. The topic of pastor compensation in the Church of God is important. Why?

  • The need to steward well church resources
  • One of the largest categories in the church budget
  • Church budget limitations
  • Need to lever a minister’s compensation
  • Almost 50% of Church of God pastors say that financial stress can make them feel like giving up.

Let’s talk about pastoring and compensation matters.

Sponsored by Church of God Ministries, the CARE Project, and Servant Solutions.
